Exhibition

IICP celebrated its 33rd birthday by acknowledging its role and responsibilities in environmental conservation. ‘Save the Earth’ an exhibition by staff and students celebrated earth’s bounties and cautioned against its destruction and it was also a part of our Better Calcutta Project this year. The Exhibition was inaugurated on 18 November at 10:30 by Mr. Gulshan Sachdev, President  American Chamber Of Commerce (AMCHAM).

Each class chose a topic based on “Global Warming-Save The Earth” and came up with bright and colourful displays which highlighted the causes, effects and probable solutions to this burning issue. Thus our exhibition served the dual purpose of being educative as well as entertaining.

We were successful in conveying to our visitors how Global Warming was already affecting us and the way we live. Our students went around explaining each theme in detail to all our visitors. The experience gave us all a deep sense of responsibility and also instilled in us, love and care for our environment. Our exhibition also became a great success by bringing together various schools and other different Institutes. Nearly 800 students from 10 mainstream schools attended the exhibition. During the exhibition there was a quiz on global warming and a skit  “Baachbo Baachabo” (will live and also let others live) where through their play, students educated a live audience about the dangers and possible solutions to Global Warming

Some comments about the exhibition:

  • “It felt like as if we have come to heaven. We loved your presentation very much.”
  • “It was amazing because the teacher guided the students very well…we had a wonderful time and gained a lot of knowledge.”
  • “Deserves a lot of praise for the affectionate attention given to the students of the school.”

Later, In his letter to the Executive Director, Mr Sachdev wrote: “ November 18th has been a memorable day… and we thank you for making us part of such a gratifying and humbling experience that will always remain with us. It was a very well organized exhibition and everything on display was very endearing. I reiterate our feeling of satisfaction in being associated with such noble cause and honour offered to inaugurate the exhibition – Great Job Done ! “
